"Dear Frank,
It was our good fortune to live next door to you and Dorothy for over fifty years. You were great next door neighbors and cherished friends.
You were forever a gentleman, ready to chit-chat and quick with a smile. Our son Patrick, as a young tyke told us you were, My best friend. You were a good man, and with Dorothy, a charter member of St. Ephrem parish.
You were always proud of your home, and spent many hours working on your lawn, shrubs, and the beautiful flowers that Dorothy loved so much. Your stunning landscape was culminated by the majestic Blue Spruce residing in your front yard which finally reached at least twenty feet in height.
We are forever grateful for that tree and your generosity in letting us use that tree as a chronicle of our family history. It served as a pictorial backdrop for every major event our children experienced. From kindergartens through First communions, Confirmations, proms and graduations our kids and your spruce grew tall together.
There is an old Irish saying:
"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal;
Love leaves a memory no one can steal."
We feel the heartache. We feel the love."
