Condolence & Memory Journal

Cait was my lab partner in microbiology. She was one of the most motivated individuals I have ever met. I regret not taking her up on going out to lunch. Maybe things could have turned out differently.

I met Caitlin when doing a training class at my job. I knew instantly how special she was. She picked everything up so fast, and it was clear to me that she was good at everything she did. She was loved by everyone, she had the most uplifting personality. I haven't stopped crying since the news broke. I wish the whole family nothing but my deepest condolences in this heartbreaking time. She may have passed on, but even in the short time I knew her, she gave me memories of which I will never forget. Again, this is a tremendous loss for everyone affected. Caitlin, you will be sorely missed.

You will be sadly missed.

A daughter, sister, granddaughter, Goddaughter, niece, cousin, friend, consoler, counselor, brave one. A light in our lives. Kathleen and Bob, you gave her the perfect foundation, the perfect love. Coreen and Kellyn you were her first loves, her first friends. Caitlin then took all that and she turned out to be the funny, silly, intelligent, witty, adventurous, aware, determined, helpful, courageous, strong, talented, curious, loving, eloquent, kind, most beautiful spirited and gorgeous woman. What a beautiful soul, such a beautiful soul. Caitlin helped me, she lent me a shoulder when I was down. She would put aside herself and help me. I'd like to think we were there for each other on more than one occasion. She was so very special. We had a connection. I will always hold her in my heart. I will always love and miss her. But, her light will shine on, her memory will not fade. Sweet CaitlinI will always admire her and will always be proud.

Just learned of Caitlin's passing this afternoon when I dropped into Simply Fresh in Plymouth. Caitlin's former co-worker gave me the news. I was shocked and saddened beyond belief. I was one of probably hundreds of customers that engaged with her at Simply Fresh yet she always remembered my name and asked how I was doing. She was sorely missed when she left SF and I hoped all was well. What a bright engaging young woman she was ! To her dear family please accept my warmest condolences on your lost.

Caitlin was light and life and goodness personified. Within moments of meeting her, I knew she was a Kindred Spirit and felt as though I had known her for years. She had that ability, that gift; to make you feel at ease immediately. I will miss her rich and heartfelt laughter ringing in my ears, her razor-sharp, and effortless wit, her insatiable thirst for knowledge, and her genuine drive to help others. But mostly, I will regret that we did not have more time together. She impacted my life permanently and profoundly, and for that I will forever be grateful.

I will miss you, Cait, and my prayers and condolences are with those people who knew you best and who you loved most, your family.

May Angels Lead You In.

I am so beyond devastated to hear this news. I remember the first day I met Caitlin she answered my craigslist ad for a roommate at Michigan State. We immediately bonded over our shared love for the same indie band it was such an obscure band that we figured it was a sign that we should be roommates. She was hilarious, and her laugh could light up a room. I always admired her for speaking her mind and how passionate she was about helping others. She always lent a listening ear when things were tough, and gave the best advice. She made me think differently about a lot of things. I loved her style, her doodles, her handwriting (it was perfect!), and her endless creativity.

After graduating, we moved to Charleston, SC together and I couldn't have met a better person to do this with. Experiencing our first years post-college on our own is an adventure that I'll never forget. When she moved out of our first apartment together, and into a different house, I remember how she turned it into a home. She had a green thumb, and turned a backyard that was ridden with weeds into a beautiful garden. When I came over to visit, the house always smelled of something delicious she was cooking. She a way of leaving a beautiful mark on the people and places she came in contact with. I know I will never forget her.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Mr. and Mrs. Uhl, Kellyn, and Coreen.

Know that we love you and our thoughts are with you. That tap trio "together" has gone through my mind about 100 times today, along with many Myrtle Beach memories.

Oh Kathy & Bob
I'm so sorry for your loss.. my heart just aches for you ..
Caitlin was such an enthusiastic girl..
I always remembered how she would get out of bed in the middle of the night..
You had to put a lock on the outside of her door with of course the peep hole ..
so you can watch her..
Prayers and hugs for you & your family..

Caitlin you were one of my best friends. But you were my cousin too. We shared so many of life's great times and adventures together. We shared a love of school and science. We were given this ability to connect to each other's hearts and humor in a way that no one else could touch. When we struck a chord of pure comedy, there was no stopping us. We'd look at each other with strong adoration while our guts were tight from laughter. And it only ended when our parents' said it was time to go, unless we were able to Keep Bob Chatting! You are one of the loves of my life, Caitlin. I will miss you with every Spartan sighting, every sign of a person struggling, where you'd have a deep concern for their well-being and heartfelt advice, and EVERY Christmas. You are part of our Mountain Dew crew. You and our memories will live on as I share our silly stories with others. When I miss you I will think of your big blue eyes and your adoring smirk. I wish I could hug you now, cousin. You left an impression on this world and we were SO lucky to have you. Rest In Peace. I love you.

I text with Cait a few times about Bill Murray. She shared how much she loved Bill Murray. Everytime I see Bill Murray, I will think of Cait and say a prayer. My condolences and prayers to Caitlins family & friends.

Caitlin and I never hung out together on High School. She wasn't even in my grade. But she still felt like a friend. Caitlyn had a smile, laugh, and presence that made anyone feel like her friend.

Never knew about the battle she was fighting later in her adult life. This battle, I am familiar with, and fight on the battle lines daily. Sad this disease took another too soon.

My fondest memories of Caitlin was the years I spent growing up at the Uhl home. The Uhl family was my second family. Cait welcomed me into the home and played with Kellyn and I for hours. She loved our videos. I remember how much she encouraged our ridiculous clown comedy. She really thought we were funny, and when Cait laughed it felt special. I felt special having her approval and love. I felt special knowing her. I remember her and Kellyn always quoting 'What about Bob' and 'The Life Aquatic', and just any Bill Murray movie. I remember her taking me and Kell around MSU. She introduced me to Coldplay and music that touched me deep in my soul. I remember how kind she was. So kind. I remember her love for her parents, for her sisters and for Oreo. The kind of love that the Uhls have for each other is deep and can be felt immediately upon meeting them. I just loved Cait so much. I love all of the Uhls. Grateful for all of them.
