Dear Jean and family. I thought Sam was a lovely, good-humored man and I'm so sorry that you have lost him. I remember fondly the few chats we had on your front porch. Sending you my love and sympathy.

Candle

I will miss seeing you every morning when I was walking my dogs. It was always a pleasure to talk to such a kind man. You will be greatly missed. Cathy Parrinello

We will miss you walking up and down Gates Street at 9 AM most mornings! We had many great short talks as our walking paths crossed.

University of Michigan football will not be the same for me without Sam. He has been parking on my lawn since I moved in several years ago. He was my first parker. He always greeted me with a huge smile and a hug, and sometimes lovely donuts or Pringles. Through Sam I met his whole family, and my thoughts are with Jean and all the children and grandchildren. I will miss him and his exuberance and joy. He made football Saturday more fun.

May we continue to honor and respect all the lessons we have learned; acting as living symbols of a loving spirit. You are in our prayers.

We lost one of the great ones. Had a great influence over my life. Honor, loyalty, trust were trademark traits of Sam's. He will be missed by many. Our thoughts are with you and you family. Love, Joe and Eileen
