I am very sad to learn of Dr. Lynne Morgan-Bernard's passing today. She was my teacher at Wayne State for 3 semesters and was an encouraging mentor for me professionally. I appreciated her thorough preparation and interactive classes. I am grieved to hear of her passing and I express my condolences to her family. She will be missed.

I was a student of Dr. Morgan-Bernard's at WSU for the past 2 years. She was one of my favorite professors ever! She was always kind, caring, and helped me in so many ways. She had the cutest outfits with matching jewelry and shoes. I commented many times on how nice she looked and she said she loved to accessorize! You could hear her many bracelets jingling from down the hallway. She was someone you could talk to for advice or if you just simply wanted to talk. She was always fun to be around and I will miss her very much.
I am so very sorry for your loss.

My deepest condolences to Dr Morgan-Bernard's family. I was one of her students at Wayne State, and she was just a jewel of a teacher. She helped me not only in my classes but she was always available to talk, for advice and I just really appreciated having her as a teacher.

My deepest condolences to Lynne's friends and family. Dr. Lynne Morgan-Bernard is the professor who has made the largest impact on me as an educator. She has shown me how to be understanding, compassionate, and to generate a passion and love for reading in the classroom. I hope I can make the impact that she has made for me for just one student.

My deepest condolences to Lynne's family. Lynne was a wonderful woman. She was compassionate and kind with a great sense of humor. As a colleague and a teacher, she was committed to her students and to the RLL(Reading, Language, and Literature) Program at WSU. She was so very smart! I first met Lynne when she was a doctoral student at WSU and it was my pleasure to work with her as a colleague over these last couple of years. Rest in peace, Lynne. You will certainly be missed but your legacy will endure.

My mom was an amazing person. She was so strong and resilient yet gentle and compassionate. I'm not sure how to summarize 34 years of memories. She would go through hell and high water for her family. She loved her grandchildren more than anything and they love her so much. My daughter would chant NANNA NANNA NANNA whenever we would be on our way to see her and light up whenever she would walk into the room. My mom was my best friend. I talked to her everyday...it was the best part of my day. May she rest in peace. I love you momma.

I was heartbroken to hear the news of Dr. Morgan's passing. I had graduated Wayne in Spring of last year, but she continued to hold a special place in my heart and I thought of her often. I was very fortunate to have had her for multiple classes during my time there. She was always so caring and personable. We shared stories about our families. In her presence, she never made me feel like I was just another one of her students, but rather she always made me feel like I was also a friend. She was a phenomenal teacher and the type of leader every future educator looked up to! She will be missed beyond measures, but there is no doubt her legacy and what she stood for will always live on!

My deepest condolences to the Morgan-Bernard family. I had the honor of being one of Dr. Morgan-Bernards students. She was a patient and devoted educator who helped her students tremendously with whatever they needed. WSU education department will not be the same without her. She was so passionate about teaching and made sure each and everyone of her students left her classroom a better educator.Sending strength and prayers to the family. May Dr. Morgan-Bernard rest peacefully.

Lynne & I have been friend's for 50+ years. I moved to Florida 33 years ago, yet we managed to stay in contact. She remained my best friend and confidant . I can see that Lynne has touched many lives. She was an inspiration to many. She has proven to be the strongest women I know. She loved her family with all her heart and would do anything for them, this she proved over the last several months. She fought to live and lived for them! I will miss our Sunday morning phone calls( while she drove to church). I will miss our summer vacation's at the beach! Rest In Peace my dear friend.... until we meet again! You will remain always in my heart!

My heart is very deeply saddened by the loss of my former professor at Wayne State University. I learned so much from her in the two semesters I had. She always stayed positive given her unfortunate circumstances. I'll never forget the time spent in her class and how she would stay after class to help me understand content better. She was a wonderful professor and person. She was a true asset to WSU. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. Rest In Peace professor Morgan-Bernard.

Lynne loved teaching and her students, and it showed every single day. She poured so much time and care into supporting her students in becoming wonderful teachers. Lynne positively impacted the lives of so very many children by helping educators be ready to teach reading well. Lynne was deeply compassionate and caring to students and colleagues... and I suspect everyone she met. Lynne will be deeply missed.

I had the honor of taking Dr. Morgan's classes for 3 semesters at Wayne State University. She was brilliant and kind and will always be one of my favorite professors. I remember on the last day of class, I thanked her for everything and she said to keep in touch to let her know how I was doing. I always looked forward to her classes and am so saddened to hear of her passing. She talked fondly of her family often in class, especially her grandchildren. My thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort to her family.

Lynne was an incredibly influential force in my life. I will never forget the moment it seemed my professional dreams seemed to be fading--on one particular day, she knew I was going to come right to see her in her office. She was already there, waiting for me with colleagues in the education department. Lynne was an extraordinary leader. Her compassion and ambition emboldened me, because I could expect nothing less of myself if I wanted to experience success; Lynne was all the proof I needed to understand that high standards must be unflinching. I am proud to have worked with her and to have known her--and to have laughed with her. Lynne is truly the rock from which waves resonate and stretch across the ocean of time.

I was sorry to hear that Lynne passed away. She was a co-worker at Baker and friend for many years. We shared many stories about our kids and our lives in general. We even were chemo buddies. We both were fighting cancer at the same time and met for lunch sporting our wigs and sharing our stories. She was a fighter and an encourager to others fighting. She will be sorely missed. I am so sorry I will be out of town for the service but my prayers will be the family.

Thank you for the two years of wonderful conversation. Thank you for helping me mature into a Reading Specialist, and a great mother to RJ. Your stories of your son, truly helped me. God has gained a beautiful angel. To your family, my prayers are with you.

Lynne always struck me as a hard worker who rarely wasted time complaining about things. She was also one of the few people who arrived on campus earlier than me! :) Yes, she will be missed, but be assured her memory will live on in the Teacher Education Division, as well as in the many, many students whom she influenced during her too short stay in TED.

Lynne was a very important role model in my life. She always believed in me, even when I did not believe in myself. She was my college professor for several courses, my Dean and my boss in Learning Support Services at Baker College of Clinton Township for close to ten years. She had an open door policy, she was ever trusting, kind, funny and dedicated. A true professional and scholar. Lynne was an advocate for all of her students and genuinely wanted everyone to reach their true potential. I will never forget her for the rest of my days. RIP Lynne. <3>

Lynne, she was the best this world had to offer. I have many memories of her but I loved that she squirreled away snacks such as crackers, cereal, and candy in her purse or pockets. This was before the grandchildren arrived. Lynne will be in my heart and thoughts forever until we meet again. Keep an eye on us all.
