My thoughts are with the Steller family during this tragic time. Praying for God's comfort for all. I was an employee of Skanska (A.J. Etkin) and remember briefly meeting Chad while working there.

There was no phone call Jason looked more forward to than the call in January from Chad to talk about the baseball draft...They had several fun years of coaching the A's together. On Tuesday, the boys played their game for Chad and played their hearts out. When the 1st rainbow hit Austin said look its Chad. Then a second rainbow appeared. I can't help but think they had two coaches looking down on them that night.

Stellar Family,

Deepest condolences to your family. My heart breaks for you. Chad was a wonderful person. Several years ago, I was fortunate enough that my son Braden was placed on a team coached by him (of course the A's!!). I appreciated his patience with the boys and how he so loved the game of baseball. I also enjoyed his quick wit and self deprecating sense of humor. Although Braden only played a year or two before moving on, Chad would still contact me every spring to see if he needed a team to play on. I loved catching up with him at the ball fields and events at the high school where his kids are involved. It speaks volumes as to the type of man Chad was that all these years later, he still has several kids playing for him on the A's that were there when the kids first started playing WVAC. Thank you for sharing him with the rest of us. Know that you are all being prayed for.

God Bless.

Was very sad to hear the news. I served with him in the Navy on the USS California. Always had fond memories of our time out at sea and shore. God speed !!!

I have thought so much about Chad these last several days, it occurred to me that I have known him longer than I didn't know him, my entire adult life. I've always considered him a very close friend but would often describe him as Brian's lifelong friend. I now realize I could have said the same thing about me. I'm heartbroken at his loss. I'm going to miss his quick and sarcastic wit, his competitive spirt and just spending time with him. Simply put, I'm going to miss my friend. Dawn, Erin, Jacob and the entire Steller Family, I am so sorry for your incredible loss. Chad was one of a kind and I'll miss him forever. Love you all.

My deepest condolences to the family of Chad. I knew Chad through the last 10 years in his role working at Simone, he was a customer, but more so a good friend. Chad and I often talked about little league baseball as I also coached my son and we both love the game. I will absolutely miss Chad, but also will remember all the laughs we shared through the years trying to build Detroit. This one will leave a mark. All best wishes and prayers to Chad's family and please know he touched and enhanced the lives of so many people, myself included.

Linda (& family), we are so so sorry for your loss. There are no words to make you feel better, but I hope all your memories help in your healing. I think my favorite memories of Chad would be the sock and the cat, and playing the radio game, which I never won!! Prayers to all of you. You are all continually in our thoughts

I was fortunate enough to meet Chad through baseball. He was a great father and coach. I could still hear some of his comments to the players during our game tonight and of course his laugh. I am happy to have known him and he will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to the entire Steller family, especially Dawn, Erin and Jacob

I met Chad in 97 when he was a superintendent at AJ Etkin, it was at Novi High School. Been friends ever since. You are a good person with a big heart and my prayers go out to your family. FYI.. I listen to 97.1 talk radio because of you, sitting in your truck one day and harrassed you as to how can you listen to these guys talk all day. From that day on, it's been a part of my days. God bless

There are no words to express my deepest condolences and my sorrow for Dawn, Erin and Jacob.
My heart breaks for you all.
Chad was an incredible father and husband.
An active father with Erin and Jacob's sport activities. My son decided to join Jacob's baseball team that Chad coached. My son didn't excel in the sport. But Chad was always patient with him, tried to help him in every way possible and always showed him support for trying.
He will be missed by so many. Especially all the people he touched in his life.

I remember when Chad and Dawn moved next door to us, nice young couple, started to raise a family few years later (and let me add what extremely polite teens Erin and Jacob). Chad has always been a hard worker, so many projects at home remodeling and the recent beautiful sod. I can picture Chat running through the neighborhood, keeping in shape for his many marathons (some with Jacob). Our sincere condolences to Dawn, the children, Chads parents and siblings, the entire family. He will be missed. Stay strong, keep your happy memories. Shirley & Mike Markulin

This is Erin, his daughter. I'm incredibly shocked. I can't put the feeling into words. They're weird words to read. It's going over and over in my head that it couldn't have been my dad. Not him. Dad was a fun-loving and fun, loving human being. I can't imagine the rest of my life without his wisdom and brilliance. I loved him. I think anyone who met him loved him as well.

Chad, I remember the day I met you. Jim brought me to Erin's birthday party, for the "meet the best friend test". I was so nervous! But you smiled at me with such warmth in your eyes, and hugged me, and immediately made me feel like I had just become part of your clan. The last 10 years you have invited us into your home, into your family, shared life events with us and have been such a solid best friend to my husband. I never imagined a future without you in it as our family friend. My heart aches for Dawn and Erin and Jacob and all of your family who I know love you so much and all of whom I know meant the world to you. The universe has made a terrible mistake my friend. We will miss you, always.
