Tribute & Message From The Family

Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Don by adding your memories and photos.

Pfeifle - Don "Pup" July 20, 2019 Age 73
Beloved husband of the late Stephanie for 30 years. Dear father of Shari (Benny) Ferlito, Shelly (Dean) Handrow, and Shawn (William) Smith. Proud grandfather of Jacob, Benny, Makenna, Zachary, Cooper, Layla, Kendra, and Andrew. Loving brother of the late Robert, Sharon, Sally Jo, and Chuck. Visitaton at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. (Shelby Township) Friday 3-9pm. Funeral Saturday 10:30am at the funeral home with visitation beginning at 9:30am. Memorial donations to The American Heart Association are welcome. Don was very proud to serve in the Marine Corps, had retired from an Engineering Tech career with Chrysler Corp with 25 years of service but most proud of his second career of being an outstanding grandfather "Pup" (short for Papa) to his grand kids. His most notable skills were spoiling his family, being generous, having a great time, gardening, fishing, cooking, fixing anything, driving way too fast on anything cool - from his old '64 red Plymouth Fury to the latest ATV or his ZTR - he loved all with a passion. Sometimes its hard to understand why God takes the people we love the most away from us. Only he knows why. He has greater plans for Don. He is no longer suffering and he is back with his "Bride" Steph. Now they can be together to watch over all you girls and his grand kids. You're all in our prayers.

Don was always one of my best friends. We bowled , golfed , fished , partied and worked. He has taught me so much , especially about life and family. Don will dearly be missed by all.

What a terrible loss, and gone far too soon. I loved Don, and regret not having seen him in a long time. I will never forget his easygoing demeanor and wonderful sense of humor but most of all his fierce love and loyalty to his family and friends. He was always there for anyone who needed him. It is hard to put into words what a truly sweet, loving, kind man Don was. We believe he left a little of him in all of us. He was always a happy person and a joy to be around. He will be safe and happy with God and we will all cherish the time we had with him. God bless him and his family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
