Joe, David an Josh many prayers go out for you and your family. I knew Joanie from the old neighborhood on Grant. Our kids played together. Joanie and I had some good conversations and laughs. Loved her Christmas cards. I will miss her. Rest in peace lovely lady.

I am so sorry for the loss of a great gal! I had the pleasure of being Joan's Prayer Partner last year! Truly a wonderful lady who will be and is already missed! May our Lord shine upon you!
May HE give your friends and family the strength and courage to travel down Life's roads(s) without you!

Aunt Joanie,

I don't even know where to start. For some reason, losing you feels like losing Grandma all over again. Probably because of all four of you girls, you always reminded me the most of her. Your wit, your sense of humor, your love for a healthy debate, the way you always made sure the boys included me. The fact that after grandma passed and I no longer had her letters to keep me updated on the family happenings, you picked up her mantle and would call to check in on me and make sure I was doing okay...

Grandma and Grandpa raised four wonderfully kind and caring women. Your sisters, your boys, and all of your nieces and nephews, we all lost a piece of ourselves when you passed. We will love you forever.

My heart is broken as another light burns out in our close loving family. The great losses that our family has endured is truly sad. There are no words that can express how empty my heart feels inside. My mom lost another best friend and a beautiful angel. I love you aunt Joanie you brought laughter and joy to every family function you had. You had the most amazing and fun Christmas Eve parties every year! You were more than an aunt to us all and your bright smile and spirit will be greatly missed every day. You were always so selfless, so strong and always thinking of others especially my baby brother throughout all these years with all of his ailments and his sickness and yet still until the end of your days you were always there for my mom helping her get through it. You were always praying for Kurt every day even though you were fighting for your life and in horrible pain. You were a remarkable soul and you helped my mom through some of her darkest days. You were the younger sister but you took care of my mom like an older sister. I know my mom wouldn't have survived many of the things in her life without you being there for her and I thank you for always taking care of her. You made us all laugh and were so fun to be around. Your white elephant game will never be the same. I am honored to have been your niece and in your life all these years although they were cut short. I love you and I will miss you every day. Give my brother Todd the biggest hug and kiss from me and tell him that we love him and miss him every minute of every day. Give all of our family and friends up there a bunch of hugs from us all!! They now are going to be having some great fun every day now that you have arrived at the gates of heaven! Do you jaws attack impression for them and we will see you soon!! Love you and miss you always. Love Jamie Litvin-Manardo

Aunt Joanie you will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for all the love and support you've showed Kurt and I through the years... Always sending cards or a text to check in. Your prayers and love were felt. When I met you, you were immediately MY Aunt Joanie too and I feel blessed to have known you. Please squeeze Todd for me, I know he'll love a hug from me. ;) You will be so missed here on earth.

To Joe, David and Josh,

I love you all and my heart breaks for each of you. I know how hard it will be to carry your grief, but your whole extended family will be their for you guys. The pain never goes away, but will lessen over time. Know how much I loved your Wife, Joan, and David and Josh, your mother.

Joanie I love you., I will miss you, I will miss your voice, our daily morning calls, our debates, your thoughtfulness, and your devotion to your Family. That's what was so special about you. You always brought out the best in people. You were so strong. I wished I had half your strength as an individual. I love how you lived your Life. You never looked back. You just went full steam ahead. You were always so sure of yourself. You were an inspiration to behold. I am able to take comfort in knowing that ...."In my Fathers house are many room, if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going their to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:1-4.

You will be missed by so many. I will never forget the many memories of you from childhood through adulthood; from the family garage sales to Christmas Eve celebrations. Your courage and strength during your great struggle was awe-inspiring. Family events will never be the same but I know you are in a better place and at peace now.

Oh how grateful I am that Joanie was a part of my life. Her joyful spirit and caring heart were always evident to all she met. Joanie was a constant thread that kept our family connected to all of our dear Michigan relatives. Joe, Josh, David - we are holding you all close in our hearts with fervent prayers for comfort and peace and the blessed assurance that she is with so many loved ones in paradise! We are with you in spirit this week especially, but always and forever.

Until We Meet Again
Those special memories of you will always bring a smile
If only I could have you back for just a little while
Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do
You Always meant so very much to me and always will!
The fact that you're no longer here will always cause me pain
but you're forever in my heart UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!

Joe, my sympathy to you and your boys. Joanie fought so hard to continue to be there for you all during the last few years; illness robs us all of so much. I'll never forget how both of you have helped our own family at various times, particulary during illness and deaths. Take care, and know that she would want you all to carry on.

Aunt Joanie was one of the first extended family members I had the pleasure of getting to know after I married John. She had this way of instantly making you feel like family. She was always so caring, asking many questions about work or kids. In fact, I don't believe I ever called her anything but Aunt Joanie. She had a memory like a steel trap. Always able to remember every photo taken, every person in the photo and even date, time and place or event the photo was taken. She told me so many stories about john and his childhood. Words can't express the loss we all feel, god truly blessed us all by giving us Aunt Joanie.

Joanie was a very dear niece who was greatly loved by our family. She was a sweet, kind, loving Christian lady. She endured years of suffering with grace - and now has gained the crown of life for eternity.

Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal,
But love leaves a memory that no one can steal.

Joanie has always been an upbeat, wonderful cousin who kept us informed of Michigan relatives' events. We will miss her for our remaining years here on earth, but look forward to a joyful reunion with Joanie and other relatives in the future together in heaven.
