Condolence & Memory Journal

Dear Janice, Bob and Bob Jr., I am deeply sorry for your loss and would like to express my most heartfelt condolences on Anne's passing. My daughter, Sonja, was a friend of Anne's and part of the group of Marines that left Miramar for Japan in March. Sonja told me that you met part of the group for breakfast when they returned from Japan. I am so sorry that you didn't get a chance to welcome Anne back with the rest of the group that day. Sonja told me how much Anne loved children and dogs (and how much they loved her). Thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute video. I can only imagine what big gap Anne is leaving in your family. My prayers are with all of you. Sincerely, Jacqueline Renowden

Dear Bob, Jan, & Bob Jr.,
I was so blessed to have gotten to know Anne through the past 10 years at the family get togethers sat Bill & Helen's. I always felt like I was apart of your beautiful family, and the moment I saw Anne, she would light up with the biggest smile to come over and greet me with a hug and a nice long visit. I truly adored the visits that I had with her each and every time. She has a permanent mark on my heart, and I will treasure each and every conversation that we shared together. My heart truly breaks for all of you. I've been praying everyday, asking God to provide you comfort and courage during the days, months, and years ahead. I wish I could take the pain away, I experienced the loss of a family member earlier this year, it's still a constant ache and hurt that will never go away. There are no answers but having faith in God, somehow helps you to get through minute by minute. I will continue to pray for you all, even as the days and months pass, I'll be thinking and praying for you all. Know that you were the best parents, and she was an outstanding, beautiful young woman. My deepest condolences

Dear Vassas family,

Anne was a dear, dear student who brightened each school day. She came to visit before she left for Japan and it was so rewarding to see her achieve her dream of becoming a Marine and all of the pride she had in that accomplishment.

Today I am deeply saddened to learn of her passing. I don't know that anything can bring you comfort at this time, but do know that she made a difference in this world and brought joy to me and those around her and will always be remembered fondly.

Dear Vassas family, Anne was such a good friend to our son, Zachary Fischer. He pinned Anne's CPL rank on for her this summer when she was promoted. We cried along with him when he called home. Our family's heart was broken for you and we have and will continue to pray for you all. Anne was such a beautiful spirit.

Dearest Jan, Bob and Bob Jr. my heart is aching for you and your family. I was completely devastated to see this very sad news. I remember Anne to be such a beautiful bright and happy young woman.
I will never forget the day I met her. Her smile literally lit up the room. I will forever remember my wonderful conversations with her, although brief they were very meaningful. My prayer for you is that you may feel God's loving presence in your heart and that He will comfort you and give you peace.
You will remain in my prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear of Anne's passing. My son Michael and Anne met in 2009 when we moved to Clinton Township when they were in middle school. Michael also joined the Marine Corps and was deployed to Oki. Anne and Michael kept in contact over the years and she planned to come visit Michael when he was home on leave. Unfortunately, Michael died in a car accident two days before Christmas. Anne reached out to me after the accident and was so very sweet. Anne was a bright, kind, thoughtful girl. I liked her the min I met her!
I know exactly what you are going through and there's NOTHING anyone can say to take away your pain. Just know I'm praying for your family. ❤

We're so sorry Bob and Janice. Words seem so insignificant at a time like this. All we can say is that we will keep Anne and your family in our prayers. Tom and Janis Pratt

Anne, you were a great friend. I wish I would have gotten to say everything I was thankful for that you taught me and showed me. You taught me to love myself, to be proud of myself and most importantly not be ashamed of your views and beliefs. You were an inspiration to me throughout high school and you were one of my first real friends. I love you Anne. Til I see you in heaven. God bless.
