Tribute & Message From The Family

Laura Argyris (A.K.A. LA, Nonie), was granted her angel wings, that were surely earned, on September 3, 2019, following a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. LA fought hard until her last day. She spent her final days as she wanted, celebrating her beautiful life with friends and family rather than dwelling on the end.

LA leaves behind her wonderful, loving, and caring husband, James, who loved her more than life itself. She also leaves her father, Harold and step-mother Rae, her three sisters, Pat, Mary Jo, and Karen and brother, Mike. She has joyfully reunited with her mother, Carol, in Heaven.

LA was a loving mother to Curtis (Carrie), Nicholas (Amy), Christina (Wayne), Cory (Joe) and James Jr. (Theresa). She was a beloved Nonie to 10 grandchildren who she loved almost more than her children. She would always say that loving her grandchildren was a different kind of love, so great that no words could describe it but could only be expressed in actions.

LA was a wonderful friend to Dan and Jan. Their friendship was a cherished one, in that Jan was at her side helping in her care until her last day.

LA will be greatly missed and will live forever in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. If ever there was a sign, theme, or picture that best represented her, it would be a Cross with wings. She was everything that the Cross stands for; Faith, Courage, Strength, Trust, and most importantly, Love. She showed us all how to live, to have the courage to stand out and be yourself, and to live and love life to the fullest, even when faced with challenges and obstacles. She loved living and made the most out of her life. So, as we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her amazing life and the love that she shared. She will always be alive in the memories of those she loved and loved her!

In honor of LA's wishes, in lieu of flowers or cards, she has requested that donations be made toward the dedication of a memorial bench, in her name, at River Bends Park, which she has called her Garden of Eden. Donations can be sent via PayPal to
