Condolence & Memory Journal

The midnight stars are shining upon a silent grave. Beneath it lies the one we love
The one we could not save. We mourn for her in silence and breathe a sigh of regret. For she was ours to remember though all the world forget. Gone dear Chris, gone forever. How we'll miss your smiling face. But you left us to remember, no one on earth can take your place. Though your smile is gone forever and your hand we can not touch, we will never lose sweet memories of the one we love so much.

My sincere condolences to family. Praying for and your family

My sincere condolences to Dave and the family.
Sixty four years of friendship. A lifetime of memories. From our younger years of dressing alike as "Trudy and Judy" twin sisters, to our "Girl trips" as adults. Most memorable, of course, would be our trip to Graceland. It was such an emotional time for Chris as she was always Elvis' greatest fan. Naturally we also stopped at every Casino between my home in Alabama and Tunica Mississippi. Not to mention dining at the list of restaurants Chris had planned for our trip.
On December 10th, I lost my best friend and a big part of my heart. But I know she will be waiting for me on the other side for our next great adventure.

There will never be another like my Aunt Chris...

December 10, 2019. The end of an eventful and amazing era. The era of Aunt Chris.

Let me tell you about this era. Countless memories. So many memories that it would take days to to even share every one of them. But there are a few that I believe, people need to know.

ELVIS. Elvis music, Elvis parties, Elvis impersonators, Elvis pictures and so much Elvis.

COOKING. Wonderful food. She always had something cooking at her house. You could never leave the house without having a plate of food thrown in your hands to take home. My favorites were her cabbage rolls, city chicken and the best one out there, cheesy potatoes. One year for my birthday, she made me a whole pan of them, just for me.

PARTIES. One thing Aunt Chris knew how to do was throw a great Midwest party. Drinking, music, and dancing down in the basement. Amazing food being cooked in the kitchen. Cards being played at the kitchen table. When it was nice, hanging outside on the deck. And when you needed to rest your eyes, you sat in the living room watching either the cooking channel or a Lifetime movie. Man, the memories of the numerous parties at her house run deep.

The Kokorelis and De Lorenzo families grew up together and we all have many fond memories. Gus & Florence as well as our Mom & Dad, Joan & Joe, had a great connection and that made us "Family". Chris and my youngest sister, Jude Reno, were lifelong friends, so much so that we considered them as close as sisters. Chris had a great personality and was a caring and wonderful person to be around. We are all very sad that Chris had such a terrible illness as cancer but her spirits remained high and that was Chris. She will be greatly missed by all but not forgotten. Our deepest sympathies to the Pittel and Kokorelis Families. May God rest her soul. She is finally at peace.

A good friend and neighbor, she visited me while I was going through breast cancer, and I will miss her. My condolences to Dave and her family. She was a good mother, grandmother and wife .

Dave, my deepest sympathy to you and your family during this trying time. It's never easy to lose a mother but knowing she is resting after suffering for so long should give you a little peace of mind. I lost my mother in 2015 and it still seems like yesterday, all you can do is remember the times you shared together and know she is in a good place now.

Candle

To the Pittel and all extended family members - Chris (Aunt Chrissy) has left us with a plethora of wonderful memories and joy. She lit up the room with her smile and laughter. May you always draw on the beautiful memories and her gift of love that she gave unconditionally. Her spirit will be with you every minute of every day. When you yearn for her physical hugs and voice, know that our Almighty Father God is taking care of her until the day you meet again.
Peace, faith, and love.
