To the Walden Family:

I am sadden, shocked, and at a loss for words over the loss of my C3, CAS3, and ILE classmate. Jeff, you will be missed.

I extend to the Walden family my deepest condolence as you face this tremendous change in your family structure. As the days pass and your grief ebb and flow, remember: Go "to the mercy seat, fervently kneel. Here bring your wounded hearts. Here tell your anguish; [for] Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. . . . Earth has not sorrow that Heaven cannot cure."

May God continue to strengthen and keep you through this time of loss and change.

Sierra Chapel Catholic Parish from White Sands Missile Range expresses our deepest sympathies to the family of Chaplain Walden. Chaplain Walden was truly a ray of light in this world. His legacy here at White Sands was one of building bridges across all of the religious communities. He was always supportive and gracious to all the congregations and actively sought ways to encourage others to find God. He will be missed however his legacy remains. May God Bless him and you, and may He keep you safe in the palm of His hands.

My prayers to the family. Jeff and I served together in the Tennessee National Guard and later in life I ran into him at a COG General assembly. I am currently at Fort Bliss and it breaks my heart that I did not know he was working so close. The Army has lost a great gatherer of souls and beloved Chaplain. God Bless you Rosylin.

Roslyn,
I can't tell you how sorry I am today on Jeff's passing. It hurts me and Nan to hear this morning that Jeff has left this earth though we know where he went. I can't say enough about how Jeff always made an impression on me and Nan. We love you. So today, I have mixed emotions of sadness and joy as tears fill my eyes for you and your family. Sadness because Jeff will be missed by many, but most of all by you. Joy, because I know he is in heaven. You & your family will be in Nan's and my prayers.

To Jeff's family: I haven't seen your husband and father for over 35 years but he and I were good friends at the Warren Church in the 60's and 70's. He did a great impression of Jimmy Stewart. I was stunned by the news of his passing. You all are in my prayers and I hope to express my memories of Jeff as a young man to you in person on Friday.

My memory of Jeff will always be one of our musical endeavor in high school. I remember being surprised at Jeff's depth - something that I'd never expected before he approached me to join him in playing in the talent contest. Rest in peace. Sorry that you've left us so early in life.

Rosslyn and Children,

Jeff was such a good friend to me and others. If I was in the US I would do my best to come to the funeral. Currently I am at a pre-deployment exercise in Germany even though I work as the Deputy Chief, department of Pastoral Care, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, VA.

Children, your Dad was SO PROUD of you. Every time we got together he couldn't wait to tell me your latest great exploits. You are honored to have had him as your father.

Again, I am so sorry to hear of my friend's death.

If I can help you, let me know.

Jeffrey Walden was my Chaplain and Pastor at U.S. Army Garrison Benelux, Daumerie Caserne, Belgium. He was a caring and excellent minister who strengthened me and brightened the responsibilities of command, and who encouraged me always to the high road of faith in the Master.
