To me He was my Father in the Gospel. I still listen to tapes recorded of his Preaching. There is that something that makes you feel comfort from the Shepherd. It resonates and causes me to think back when he was preaching. I will always love and appreciate the opportunity to have had him as my Pastor.
I thing I often think about when I think of the day my Mother went home to be with the Lord. I call from California and he said to me "Your bring Mom home right" Yes sir I am, was my answer. He said to me call me when you and your husband get here.
Even as I type this is brings tears to my eyes how caring, compassionate and wonderful he was as our spiritual Father. I know that Anna his wife and the entire Beall & Gruit family miss him tremendously. So do those of us he taught. The Lord Knows best.

Pastor Beall preached at the 1984 American Baptist Charismatic Convention in Green Lakes. I was a young insecure pastor and Jim told us not to throw away our confidence. I never was the same. I also fell in love with the natural way of demonstrating the supernatural that Jim modeled.
I listened to his sermon "UNTIL" maybe 15 times over the years. I think that conference transformed my way of ministry until today. I am a pastor of a large church in Medellin, Colombia for 27 years. Something from Jim about staying put in one spot rubbed off on me.

I was saddened to learn of Brother Jim's passing only just today. Brother Jim stands in my memory as a foundational figure who spoke of the Lord with the gifts of intelligence and insight. I always felt enriched and enlivened in spirit after listening to the remarkable messages delivered by Brother Jim with such passion and cadence. "This Is The Day That The Lord Hath Made" he would say to the congregation at Bethesda. My family truly loved this good man of God. I am eternally thankful that we were so blessed to have had brother Jim as our Pastor.

It is with shock and disbelief to me that Pastor James Beall has passed away.....I did not discover this until today, Jan. 5, 2014......It just so happened that I was on the Facebook site and a friend of mine was commenting to someone else that Pastor James had passed and it was like in November of 2013....I was an avid radio listener of the "America to your knees radio ministry".....and as Pastor James used to say, "Produced in the Bethesda Missionary Temple located at Nevada and Van Dyke Avenues in Detroit, MI.....We are calling America to your knees for it is prayertime in America". He (Pastor Beall) was very articulate and greatly anointed of the Lord.......It was often that I was fasting and in prayer and the last hour of my consecration time I would turn the radio on and there he would be.....I looked forward to that radio broadcast for strength and encouragement.....Now I mourn with you because a soldier has indeed gone from us.......However, one day the Lord will descend from heaven with a shout and the voice of an archangel and the trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ will rise and they that are alive and
remain will be caught up together to meet the Lord in the air" (I Thess. 4:16-18) and it is with this hope in mind that we MUST journey on and continue to hold onto and trust God in all of it.......God bless the Bethesda Family richly for you have richliy blessed me..........Rev. I was raised in Bethesda Missionary Temple. As a child attending Bethesda Christian school I remember how all of us kids loved and respected Brother Jim.. To me Brother Jim was a great role model of how to be a man. He was big and tough, but kind. Brother Jim was firm, but with us kids you could always see a kind smile. He would speak to us during morning chapel something we really looked forward to. I guess what most impresses me was with Brother Jim a fellow always knew where he stood. The church was a tight run ship. We started on time things were orderly, the building always clean. When my parents divorced, Pastor Beal spent time with me between preaching sermons on Sunday. I am still so impressed that this important man took the time to show me he cared. I love Brother Jim and miss him dearly.

I attended Bethesda from 1978-1984. I got some valuable training from Bethesda and am eternally grateful for my Christian education there. I had my tough times and trials that many I brought on myself. Pastor Beall was very personable and knew his Bible. I know many individuals who felt that Bethesda was one of the most Spirit filled Churches in Michigan. I wrote to Pastor Beall up until a few years ago and asked forgiveness for leaving Bethesda before the Lord released me and was so gracious in writing. When a friend of mine from Bethesda died, I questioned how he handled it. Until I had to do a funeral and did the same thing that Pastor Beall did. He taught well. I know he will be missed, but as he always said when a saint when home to be with the Lord..."Our loss is heavens gain."

To the Beall Family,
Our hearts were joyous to hear of Brother Jims home coming, but saddened to know that we have lost a spiritual leader and a man blessed of God with many talents. We have moved and just received the information.
On behalf of the family of late Rev Ambrose Cuppetelli and Mildred, we extend our prayers heavenward in grateful thanksgiving for the blessings and Gods hand in Brother Jims life. Only God knows the lives that he enriched, untold ministries enabled and global reach of his wisdom and passion for souls. A man of absolute integrity and faith. The saints gone one are welcoming a true and faithful servant. Our prayer to Sister Ann and family

I walked into Bethesda Sept 1980 the first time (from Louisiana). I had just come back to MI after being brutalized and nearly killed by the man that was supposed to have loved me. I took a bus from New Orleans to MI. A lady on that bus led me to the Lord. Due to the fact I left LA with the clothes on my back...there were enormous things that I needed to overcome. When I arrived at the bus station in Detroit...there was a Bethesda member there (I think he worked there). He asked me "Are you saved?". Since I'd given my heart to the Lord on that bus, I answered him and said "Yes, I am". The ONLY thing I knew was that there are Christians and Jewish faiths. I got firmly rooted and built up in the Lord at Bethesda. When I completed my first class (Herb Moss) taught, I was asked to share my testimony at our celebration of completing that class. I went on to gain as much knowledge of the Lord as I could get....went through every class, and ended up helping Ruth Whittaker. I also worked as a Sunday school teacher for several years. However, being asked to be a prayer counselor felt as a reward from the Lord. When we were at "Bethesda Missionary Temple"...I took the word 'missionary" to heart. Now, thanks to my training...I've worked within 4 continents...the Lord used my time in Romania as a "launching pad" into many nations". One thing more...if it were not for Sister Pat asking us to write out our "hearing ear" paper...this along with Brother Jim and Harry's teaching...I doubt any of this could have taken place. To simply say I love not only Brother Jim but the family as well...is an understatement of vast proportion. The word that come to mind thinking of all I just wrote is...AGAPE Love... Patricia

Hi Anne, I was so hoping to be there for Brother Jim's funeral. It was not to be since he went to be with the Lord while I was on vacation. I know he is in the arms of Jesus.
I will always remember the kindness you both showed me when my son Stephen passed away and I hope that I can show you the same love and kindness. Jesus brought me 5000 miles to America so I could know him as my personal savior and He
made it possible for me to find Him through Bethesda. God bless you Anne and give you the strength to carry on.

So thankful to God, Brother Jim and his whole family for their obedience to God, by serving His people. I was dedicated to God at age 7 years old at Bethesda Missionary Temple along with my sister Bonnie. I attended 8 years. Our Mother Charlene took us girls to church every Sunday morning and nite and Wednesdays. I backslide, but now I have rededicated my life 24 years ago, and I wouldn't be the on fire for God Christian that I am without being raised like I was at Bethesda. So thankful for all the teaching and love I received from the people at Bethesda. Catechism, Baptism and Speaking in Tongues, Confirmation, Camps, Conventions in the Summertime, not to mention the 4th of July picnics. I am so great full to have been introduced to Jesus by my mother, and so thankful for Brother Jim teaching us Christianity 101, and the depth of the Bible. So many people in the world now adays don't even know Jesus, let alone teachings of the Bible. I am so very thank full to the Man of God Brother Jim, he surely was lead by the Holy Spirit, he taught me a lot from the radio program he had, and he sure was full of God's love. Oh yea, I can't forget to mention ALL the hymns and songs I learned (probably 2 or 3 hundred) from attending Bethesda. I live in Florida, my Mom lives in Michigan, we have praised and worshipped God over the telephone with the songs and hymns we learned all those years ago. I have much gratitude and I honor Brother Jim and the Beall Family and all who made Bethesda Missionary Temple (Bethesda Christian Church) what it is today. Thank full to my Mother Charlene, she also attended Bethesda with her Mother and her Grandmother Mary also attended, many years ago. God bless all of you, and my prayers are with you.

In 1979 I left my home, my family, and my church to serve my country in the USAF. The Sunday before I left I was blessed in front of the congregation by my Pastor, Brother Jim. It's been over 34 years now that I have worked for the DoD, and I have been around the world in places that were safe, and some that were not. Through it all God has kept me safe in the palm of his mighty hand, and the blessing and prayers of my Pastor have been honored. This past January when my mother was in the hospital I came home to help with her needs. It turned out that Brother Jim was also a patient down the hall. What a blessing God provided me in the opportunity to fellowship with my Pastor, and help in any way I could. It was truly an amazing experience to visit with both him and Sister Anne. Each day for nearly a week we laughed and told stories (he knew things about my family that I did not), and even in a hospital bed my Pastor ministered to my heart and soul through both his words, and the Lord's. The day I left I was honored to once again have my Pastor pray with me, and bless me in the name of the Lord as I departed. I thank God for granting me the priceless opportunity to spend the time I did with Brother Jim, to be blessed by him one last time, and for allowing me the opportunity to be a small blessing to both him, and Sister Anne in their time of need. Bro. Jim was the Pastor of my family for 30 of the best, most influential years of my life. I learned a great deal from him and through the strong provision of spiritual education that he arranged for the congregation. The most vivid principle I first encountered through Bro. Jim was axiom that "God gives compensating gains for losses we sustain in life". It took years of mental and emotional wrestling in my mind and heart before I succumbed to this truth. I greatly value all that I learned and received through the life and exemplary model that Bro. Jim provided. He lived by a very high standard, demonstrated it for me and inspired to me do the same.
I am grateful to God for bringing me into the broad circle of those who were mentored by one his elite chosen vessels.

We have so many fond memories of the years when we had the honor of learning under Pastor/Brother Jim. Our family was brought to the church by our family Mother Mildred in the 40's. She heard Maw Beall on the radio and took 3 buses to get there. Then Brother Jim lead the church following her footsteps. She had very gifted children, and they each had special giftings. Brother Jim was a teacher like no other. He had a Pastor's heart and wanted all of us to know the RHEMA word of God.
We now live in Florida, but all that we learned never left us for a day. May you rest in the peace of knowing how many people loved and admired all that he was. Our hearts are with you during your time of loss. We can only imagine the Mansion God has for James Lee Beall.

I am so sad at the passing of Bro. Jim.... I have great memories of the times I spent with you & Bro. Jim, both with my family and also when I was able to come visit you on my own during my college years. I had such wonderful visits every time I was with Bro. Jim and felt such kindness and genuine interest in my life and what God had for me. I remember taking a walk in your back yard one afternoon and him showing me all the plants & flowers, and I was amazed at his knowledge of just about anything! I jokingly said that he was a "walking encyclopedia"... He also had great advice about the subject of "dating" which was a great topic of interest at that season of my life. Being a "pastor/missionary kid" I was raised around many pastors growing up and I had created a list at a young age in my journal of my "favorite people" and the those who had influenced me the most. Bro. Jim was at the top of that list and I am so thankful for his influence in my life and that I had the privilege of having known him. Love you Anne!

To the family of James Beall,
My affiliation with Bethesda Missionary/ Bethesda Christian Church began 36 years ago while the church was still on Van Dyke in the city of Detroit. However, it is in recent years that I experienced a special connection to Pastor James Beall--around his fondness for the carrot cakes that I bake. His quick wit and gregarious personality will be greatly missed.
To Sister Anne Beall and family, may God strengthen you and greatly bless you all during your time of bereavement.

I met Pastor Beall while attending the Bible studies at Bethesda with Anna Lee Dunn teaching the class...It was the most amazing Bible study I ever had the privilege to be a part of...Pastor Beall would drop by many times or wait in the hallway to talk to many of us....His memory was beyond belief as he could tell you what your name was even though I was not a member of the church, but would volunteer to serve at the many dinners held at the church...He would mention to me that the next time I made a typical English roast beef dinner, he would love to come....it was a standing invitation...the love he shared to all who knew him was unforgettable . Heaven may be rejoicing but we here will miss your very presence....

We love you, Brother Jim, and will miss you greatly until we meet again before the throne.
I realized the other day that a HUGE, ENORMOUS amount of my spiritual life, and particularly my spiritual foundation, was laid carefully under your care and guidance.
I would not be who I am today, spiritually, if it had not been for all the wisdom imparted to me, first from your mother, "Mom Beall," then mostly from you as my pastor for most of the 30 years of attendance, from Brother Harry, from Sister Pat, and finally from your daughter, Pastor Dunn. I am eternally grateful for all of the teachers God has placed in my life, and am unable to express the sincere gratitude in mere words.
What an incredible heritage, and legacy you leave. You have run the race well, indeed!
I pray I am just as effective, just as integral a part in God's plan, just as "used by God" to the same degree you were...but, in man's eyes, I fear I may fall far short of ever being compared in the same breath. So, my goal is, as you have taught us from the Word, to live a God-pleasing life, be a spiritual leader to my family, who now inherits what has been imparted to me from God...thru you...and to expect God to do more than I can ever ask or imagine.
One of my fondest memories that was more recent was when the church had a footwashing ceremony, and I had the honor of washing your feet.
Thank you for being a willing vessel in the Master's hand.
I close my comments remembing your pastoral blessing all those years..."May the Lord bless thee, and keep thee, and make His face to shine upon thee..."

Pastor Beall will always have a special place in my heart. Several times during my years of illness, he personally visited me in the hospital, despite pastoring a large church and having ministers serving under him who did that. Adding together the hospital visits that I remember and those where I was not yet fully alert during Pastor Beall's visit, I know that he did this several times. That will always be special to me.

Pastor Beall was one of my favorite ministers of the 20th century. He was a true pioneer in the Christian area, all because he loved The Lord, a lot, who was also a staple in conquering justice, once and for all. I loved him.

Pastor Beall's message on tv were what interested me enough to become Born Again. He offered so much hope and scriptural blessings. God bless all of you.

Remembering great times, excellent golf games, in-depth teaching of the Word of God, a warm smile, a friendly greeting, a gentleman and powerful man of God, compassionate and kind. strong yet gentle. We thank God for the opportunity to have known Brother Jim. Our deepest sympathy is extended to the family during this season of loss. We love you all.

Dear Beall Family:
Our heart-felt sympathy and sincere prayers are being extended to you and on your behalf during this time of sorrow over Bro. Jim's passing. May the peace of the Almighty overshadow each one of you and may you be comforted by the blessed hope that we have in Christ Jesus. One sweet day we will all gather at the feet of our Lord.
Please take care...we recall the pain of loss and realize the importance of others carrying us during those times. We will do the same for you.
Blessings always, Dave and Lynda
