Randi Marie Jenkins

October 29, 1991 - July 10, 2017
Warren, Michigan | Age 25

JENKINS, Randi, passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 25 in her Warren home on Monday, July 10th, 2017. She was born on October 29th, 1991 in Royal Oak, MI to her parents Bobbi (Green) and Scott Engelhardt and was raised in Madison Heights, MI. Randi happily married the love of her life, Sean Jenkins, on October 14th, 2016 at the Woodside Bible Church in Troy, MI. Randi attended Lamphere High School and was accepted to Eastern Michigan University where she found her passion for American Sign Language. She became certified by the Michigan Board for Evaluation of Interpreters, and achieved Level 1 status. Randi began interpreting for DEAF C.A.N.! where she was placed in several different public schools throughout the city of Detroit. Although her job was simply to interpret, she advocated for her students in times of need. Randi's skills inside the classroom extended to children and adults of special needs, where she was often taking on a role above what was expected. From there, Randi joined the team at Deaf & Hearing Interpreting Service, Inc. and was recognized as a valuable asset during her short time there. Randi's longtime battle with Crohn's started at the age of nineteen. Although she endured multiple hospitalizations, surgeries and harmful medications that wore on her body, she did not let it break her spirit. Randi spent countless hours providing encouraging words to members of the Crohn's community, putting their needs above her own. In the Crohn's community, she was an administrator and member to multiple groups including Belly Buddies, IBD Angels, Chronic Pain Support Group, etc. Through social media, Randi was able to comfort and inspire simply by reaching out, touching the lives of thousands around the world. In her short time, Randi was willing to adapt and share the interests of those closest to her. She developed a love for painting and crafting through her mom, and taking endless pictures of her pets and friends just like her Aunt Stephanie. Sean brought her into the world of anime and video games, where she found enjoyment in attending conventions and cosplaying as her favorite characters. Randi also had a soft spot for animals. She rescued all of her pets from shelters and humane societies, her most recent being Noodle, an Australian Shepard mix whom she rescued with Sean. Randi cared deeply for her friends, family and loving husband, always putting them first. Whether it was being a shoulder to lean on or cracking jokes to put a smile on their face, Randi set her own needs aside in order to ensure the happiness of those around her. After Sean was injured on the job and menial tasks became extremely difficult, Randi showed what an amazing wife she was by offering to care for him without ever being asked. Her selfless and compassionate personality shined though in her friendships, as she loved unconditionally and without judgement. She is survived by her loving husband Sean Jenkins, parents Bobbi and Scott Engelhardt, grandparents Barbara and OD Wilson, Ruth and Clinton Engelhardt, Pat and Norm Ballard and her dog, Noodle. Funeral showing will be held on Monday, July 17th at Woodside Bible Church, 6600 Rochester Rd in Troy, MI from 9-9:30am for immediate family and 9:30-11:30am for the public. Service will begin immediately following the showing and will be given by Pastor Patrick Rowland. The church will provide a luncheon after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations towards Crohn's advocacy. Please make donations at: With pain comes strength.
