Pankow, Frederick Vernon of Shelby Township, MI. July 11, 1924 - April 11, 2018. Born in Halfway, MI to Fred and Frieda Pankow. Beloved husband of 70 years to Joyce (predeceased). Loving father to Gary (Colleen), Brian (Lynne predeceased, Lise), and Colleen (Dave) Hall. Grandfather to Jason (Kim) Pankow, Brian Hall (predeceased), Kelley (Gary) Hurley, Christy (Joe) Frankfurth, and David (Marcy) Hall. Great grandfather to Desmond, Amelia, Miriam, Liam, David I., Owen, and Joyce. Fred started out his teaching career in Byron, MI, then was hired as a principal in L'Anse Creuse Public Schools (1955-59), and became superintendent (1959) until his retirement (1979). Memorial service Monday, May 7, 2018, 10 a.m. at the Kensington Community Church Chapel, 1825 E. Square Lake Road, Troy, MI. Interment will be at the Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Mercy Ships, P.O. Box 2020 Garden Valley, TX 75771. Arrangements entrusted to Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. (Shelby Township)
