SZIBEY, Karl. H., October 13, 2017. Age 83. Of Macomb. Karl was born September 7, 1934 to parents Karl Szibej and Martha Gottschlichin Herne, Germany. He was married to his wife Suzanna for 55 years who predeceased him on April 16, 2015. Karl is survived by two children, son Karl Szibey and daughter Christine Govier. Grandfather to Amy Justine Govier and great grandfather to Faith Justine and Giovanni Antwain. He went to apprentice school in April of 1950 for tinsmithing and plumbing graduating in October of 1953, as a journayman pipefitter. He worked various jobs up until June 1955 when he left Germany to come to the United States to start a new life and work in his trade as a journeyman pipefitter at the age of 20 yeasrs old. He worked in various jobs in Detroit until he was drafted in the U.S. Army in May of 1957. He served overseas in Germany until April of 1959 where his unit was sent back home to finish out his servie in the reserves until he was honorably discharged from the Army on July 31st, 1963. While back here at home in Detroit he met Suzanna Schuller, who he later married September 5, 1959. Karl worked briefly at Chevrolet for a few years, leaving for better work and wages, to go work at Ford Motor Company where he worked until he retired in April of 2008. Karl and Suzanna moved out of Detroit in 1969 to Sterling Heights, Michigan. They stayed there until January 1978 where they moved to Macomb Twp., Michigan to present day. Karl and Suzanna enjoyed life to the fullest, going on many vacations to many places. They also enjoyed polka dancing and being members of a polka club, which took them to many places as well. Locally to Owosso, Frankenmuth, and Ohio. Their vacations took them to cruises to the Caribbean Islands, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, and Aruba.
