Michael Pete Malam, age 47, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Mclaren-Macomb hospital in Mount Clemens, Michigan after a two-year battle with cancer. Michael was a loving husband and a devoted father to five beautiful daughters. His family will forever miss him and his love for those around him.
Michael was born in Trenton, Michigan to Joseph and Margaret (Franey) Malam on November 8, 1971. He was the youngest brother of Jacqueline (Malam) Maloney, Joseph Malam, and Janet (Malam) Boggs. Michael grew up in Southgate and participated in many different sports while growing up, such as baseball, hockey, and golf. He was very talented and competed in many sports leagues. Michael graduated from Gabriel Richard Catholic High School in the class of 1989 and went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree through Davenport University. He accepted Christ as His Savior in his early twenties and got involved in various churches and ministries to grow in his faith. On July 9, 1998, Michael married Amy Kelly and recently celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary. He worked at Fiat Chrysler Automotive in Sterling Heights, Michigan as an electrician for twenty years and was a dedicated worker during his employment there. Michael enjoyed spending time in God's Word and making quality time to spend with his family.
Michael is survived by his wife, Amy; his daughters, Christy, Bethany, Angela, Danielle, and Elizabeth Malam; his parents, Joseph and Margaret (Franey) Malam; his late sister, Jacqueline (Malam) Maloney; his brother-in-law, Patrick Maloney; his brother, Joseph Malam; his sister-in-law, Barbara Malam; his sister, Janet (Malam) Boggs; his brother-in-law, Frank Boggs; his nieces and nephews, Ashley (Maloney) Borden, the late Kathleen Maloney, Patrick Maloney, Joe Malam, Leah Malam, Lynn Purcell, Audrey Gibbs, Aiden and Leah Kelly. He leaves behind many more loving family members and friends.
Michael's memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 1:00pm at Faith Baptist Church,26510 Schoenherr Rd. Warren, MI 48089
