SCHMITT, RALPH LEO Age 69, died May 10th, 2017. He was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania on December 24th, 1947. Ralph was the second oldest of five boys who loved adventure and one another. Ralph is survived by his sweetheart Rebecca, and his seven children, Douglas(Amy), CathyAnn(Jared), Jennifer(Nick), David(Suzanne), Nancy(Chris), Tom(Michelle) and Shari(Bryce) as well as 27 1/2 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Tom, Frank and Don Schmitt. Ralph was married for 45 years to the absolute love of his life, Rebecca Hales. Together they created a beautiful family where he served as a devoted father and husband leaving a lifetime of precious memories. Ralph was a dedicated professor at Macomb Community College and also at Walsh College. He was an engaging teacher who had a positive influence on the lives of thousands of students. He loved planning trips and exploring new places. He has visited all 50 states as well as three continents. His trip binders were unparalleled. Ralph was also a stalwart member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was extremely generous with his time and talents and resources. He enjoyed serving others and has left a legacy of goodness. He will be missed by many. Funeral Monday Instate 10:00am at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 2784 E. Square Lake Rd. (btw.
