GOIKE, William. May 10, 2017. Age 91. Beloved husband of Gina (nee: DeSantis) for 63 years. Loving father of Fred (Rose Mary) Goike, Thomas (Charlene) Goike, Annette Thompson (the late Paul) and Janine Goike. Proud and loving grandfather of William J. Thompson, Scott G. Goike, Alisha R. Goike, Gerard S. Goike, Danielle M. Goike, Ryan T. Goike, Rebecca C. Thompson and the late Kenneth C. Thompson. Also survived by his loving brothers George Goike (the late Susan) and Patrick (Cindy and the late Barbara) Goike and his sister Marguerite Goike. Predeceased by his parents Stanislaw "Steve" and Irene(nee: Dobbelstine), his brothers Joseph (the late Rose), Edward ,August (the late Sybil), Alex (the late Dorothy), Anthony (Patricia) and Michael (the late Marjorie) and his sisters Elizabeth Elwart (the late Frank) and Martha Beste (the late Elmer). Mr. Goike was proud to serve in the United States Navy, serving in the Asiatic Pacific and enjoyed dancing, singing and baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers. He was a hard working man, a successful farmer, business man and retired owner of W. Goike's Family Farm Market. Visitation Sunday 4-9pm with a 7pm VFW service at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc., 54880 Van Dyke (at 25 Mile Rd.), Shelby Twp. Instate Monday 9:30am until time of 10am Mass at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 18201 23 Mile Rd. (at Romeo Plank), Macomb Twp. Interment, Tuesday 9:30am at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.
